Drew van Esselstyn

Drew van Esselstyn has served with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for the past decade, first in New Jersey and now in Richmond, Virginia.

Before being called into ministry, Drew had a 20-year career in sports journalism, covering everything from Little League baseball to the Super Bowl.

He has been married to Nicole for 28 years, and they have two adult children: Abby, 26, lives in Richmond, and Dalton, 23, lives in Wheaton, Illinois.


Cynthia Price

Storytelling, raising profiles, and strategic thinking are hallmarks of Cynthia Price's career. An expert in media relations and strategic communications, she has helped universities, international non-profits, law enforcement agencies, and other organizations tell their stories and garner favorable press.

Cynthia is associate vice president of communications and media relations for the University of Richmond. She and her colleagues advance the academic reach and reputation of the institution and share major university news through earned media efforts, integrated employee communications, and a weekly digital publication.

She currently serves as chair of the College of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences Advisory Board at Radford University, vice president of the College Communicators Association of Virginia and D.C., and presidential advisor for the National Federation of Press Women.


Bobby Ukrop

Bobby Ukrop is Chairman and Chief Executive of Ukrop's Homestyle Foods, a producer of premium-quality, chilled prepared foods and baked goods for food retailers in Virginia and adjacent states. This business began in 2010 as an outgrowth of the Ukrop's fresh food manufacturing division when the family sold its retail operations. Bobby serves as Co-Chair of Threads Uniform Agency which provides uniforms and corporate apparel to large food retailers, theme parks, quick-serve restaurants, and convenience stores across the nation.

Bobby began his business career in 1962 as a courtesy clerk at Ukrop‘s Super Markets, Inc. while attending George Wythe High School from which he graduated in 1965. A 1969 graduate of University of Richmond (where he played varsity basketball and golf) and 1972 MBA graduate of the Darden School at the University of Virginia, Bobby had a 40-year career at Ukrop's, the last twelve as CEO. For four consecutive years beginning in 2000, Ukrop's made the Fortune Magazine list of "100 Best Employers to Work For." Bobby served in the Virginia Air National Guard from 1969-1975.

Bobby is active in the community serves as Chair of SwimRVA (an organization committed to "drownproofing Richmond" by making aquatics accessible to all), serving on the boards of Lansing Building Products, the Greater Richmond Partnership (our region's public-private economic development organization), the Salvation Army as a life trustee, and a commissioner for the Capital Region Airport Commission. He previously served as chair of the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Richmond Partnership, the Retail Merchants Association, founding chair of Communities in Schools of Chesterfield. For 26 years, Bobby served as co-founder and board member for the Richmond Sports Backers (an organization striving to build a better community through sports and promotion of active lifestyles). He served on the University of Richmond Board of Trustees for 20 years and 23 years on the Board of Trustees of the Collegiate School. For 18 years, he served on the board of the First Tee of Greater Richmond and six years on the board of the Greater Richmond Fit4Kids Foundation.

Since the late 1999, Bobby has been involved in the Lead Like Jesus movement whose mission is to "Glorify God by inspiring and equipping people to Lead Like Jesus using our heart, our head, our hands, and habits."

Bobby enjoys golf and swimming. He has taught a fifth grade Sunday School class for 40 years, including 25 years at First Baptist Church and the last 15 years at Second Baptist Church. Growing up with his family at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Eastern Henrico, Bobby was baptized in July 1956.

Married to his George Wythe High School sweetheart Jayne Brown for 54 years, Bobby and Jayne have four children and eleven grandchildren.
